Dyson continues to shake up it's hand dryer line-up in 2013, announcing recently the introduction of the Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer. Effective immediately, the dB (so named due to it's significant sound reduction, which Dyson claims to be 50% quieter) will replace the AB04, the standard of Airblade hand dryers. They've also announced a price increase for the dB (which in the U.S. is also called the AB14) of $150, from $1,199 to $1,349. We will still be selling AB04 and AB02 (in addition to the new AB14) for a period of time until inventory runs out, so call us at 888-629-0685 if you have any questions or need product.
Here's the Youtube video of Dyson engineers explaining the technology changes.
In addition to the reduction in noise, the other notable change from the AB04 is that the new dB uses the new Dyson Digital Motor, the V4, which is now standard in all of Dyson's hand dryers. In order to reduce the sound of the unit, they adjusted both the motor noise and the airflow noise (which they accomplished primarily by tilting the blades down so that the airflows meet further away from the aperture). The blades are now blue instead of yellow.
Otherwise, the new dB Airblade is quite similar to the AB04. It will still come in White and Grey, is still approved by HAACP and NSF, and is still covered under Dyson's amazing warranty. The reduced noise and improved motor are 2 great upgrades for one of our most popular product lines!
