I try to visit with each of the major hand dryer manufacturers at least once every year, and last month I drove out to Berkeley, Illinois to meet with Dan Storto, president of World Dryer. I’ve known Dan for a couple of years now, and I always enjoy visiting with him to discuss the industry and new product innovations. World Dryer has been around more than 60 years. There is a lot more competition than there was 20 years ago, and World has met the competition with some great new hand dryer products.
At lunch, Dan explained to me World Dryer’s philosophy of continually improving its hand dryer technology in order to provide faster and more efficient models that meet the diverse needs of today’s customers, giving every facility a choice when it comes to selecting a model that is just right for the particular environment.
“We’ve always designed dryers that are based on our customer needs,” Dan told me. “We were the first company to offer touch-free dryers, for example. Today, though functionality, economy, and hygiene are huge considerations when choosing the right hand dryer, sustainability has become increasingly important to customers. Our lineup of high-speed hand dryers dry hands in 10 to 15 seconds, and they also achieve the desired heat and air flow intensity with low wattage.”
Returning to the World Dryer headquarters building, I was able to try the three new high-speed hand dryer models:
- The SMARTdri® Series was developed for high-traffic areas requiring a long motor life. SMARTdri features intelligent heating and motor controls for optimizing energy efficiency and user comfort.
- SLIMdri offers high-speed dry time in a surface-mounted, ADA-compliant hand dryer. It operates on universal voltage and features on/off heating controls to customize comfort and energy savings.
- VMax® is World Dryer’s new vertical “hands-in” model. It features an extra-wide drying cavity so it is less likely that users will touch any surfaces while drying their hands. VMax is also equipped with a HEPA filter, an odor- neutralizing tablet system, and a water collection reservoir at the bottom to prevent water from pooling on the floor. And the low decibel operation makes it ideal for sound sensitive areas.
You can see these great products here.
I left World with a strong impression that Dan and his team are committed to re-energizing the company with innovative products that meet customer needs. We at NetDryers are proud to be partners with World Dryer, and we carry these and other products from World, including the Nova brand.
