The Wall Street Journal posted this article today on the growth in the hand dryer industry and the continuing battle between the paper towel companies and the hand dryer companies, with emphasis on the new technologies in hand drying and the hygiene war of words between the industries. Oregon high school students lead push for hand dryers

Hillsboro Oregon high school students are leading the charge to reduce paper usage by purchasing and installing hand dryers. The students at Century High School did the financial analysis showing the savings and then lobbied the school district to change the budget to enable the switch, which will save the district thousands of dollars while acting as a trial for the other schools in the district.
